Bonfire In The Backyard is ICON SALON’s yearly signature community event. The event goal is to provide funding to local charities fulfilling the needs of those in our own backyards. Our first Annual Bonfire in the Backyard was a huge success. Many attended to listen to 8 bands and feast on the wonderful food prepared by Steamboat Landing. $2000.00 dollars was raised this year for EMBRACE YOUR SISTERS.

“Madness Makeover” OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES AND INFORMATION
1. Introduction: Icon Salon and Spa offer the “madness makeover” Contest (“The Contest”). NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. A PURCHASE OR PARTICULAR RESPONSE DOES NOT IMPROVE YOUR CHANCE OF WINNING. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. ENTRY IN THIS CONTEST CONSTITUTES ACCEPTANCE OF THESE CONTEST RULES (THE “CONTEST RULES”).
2. Eligibility: Entrants must be 18 years of age or older to enter. The contest is open to residents the Fingerlakes New York area only. Employees of Icon Salon & Spa and Participating Merchants, and the immediate family (defined as parents, spouse, children, siblings, grandparents) of each such employee, and all those with whom such employees are domiciled, are NOT eligible.
3. Timing: The contest runs from February 16th 2011 until 4:00pm (EST), April 8th 2011. The Makeover Contestant Winners will be announced on March 7th and voting is to run Till April 8th, 2011.
4. How to Enter: Email you r entries to iconsalon@groups.facebook.com
or submit an entry at Salon location. Include a photo of yourself or your nominee, along with a description in one page or less as to why you or your nominee is deserving of the Makeover. The photo must be in JPEG format, no larger than 3mb. Photos and other submitted materials will not be returned.
The photo and description must be the original property of the entrant, and not the copyrighted property of another party, used without permission. The photo and description must not contain libelous, defamatory, profane or obscene material. If the photo includes individuals other than the entrant, the entrant must obtain a release in writing from those individuals and this release must be made available to the sponsor upon request. Noncompliance will result in disqualification. Submission of required materials serves as your consent for Icon Salon and Spa and Participating Merchants to use the entry in any and all advertising and announcements relating to the Makeover Contest.
Only one submission is necessary. Multiple entries will not increase chances of winning.
5. Winner Selection: Each entrant selected as a potential winner must comply with all terms and conditions set forth in these Official Rules, and winning is contingent upon fulfilling all such requirements. The contest will take place under the supervision of Icon Salon and Spa and Participating Merchants. Participants in the Contest agree to be bound by these rules and the decision of the judges, whose decisions are final. The potential Winners of the Makeover Contest will be announced on March 7th, 2011. If a potential winner does not reply with appropriate affidavit and contact information within (2) days after the first attempt to contact such potential winner, an alternative entrant will be selected in his or her place from all entries received.
6. Prizes: The following prizes will be awarded: Official Prize Schedule Entry Deadline: 4:00pm EST March 13, 2011. Number of Prizes: 6 Madness Makeovers Approximate Retail Value: ($) 550.00. 1 Spa Package which includes: Haircut & Color, Manicure & Pedicure, Massage, and Signature Facial. Approximate Retail Value: ($) 400.00 (Day at Spa to be given to the makeover winner with the most votes by April 8th). All prizes are nontransferable and must be accepted as awarded. No cash or other substitution may be made, except by Sponsor in the event that the prize cannot be awarded for any reason. All taxes, fees and surcharges on prizes are the sole responsibility of winner. Icon Salon and Spa and all divisions and subsidiaries thereof, are not responsible for content, condition and consequences of sponsor prizes.
7. Other Terms and Conditions: By entering this contest, entrant represents that: (i) the photograph and description do not contain material that is libelous, defamatory, profane or obscene; (ii) the photograph and description are original and by all right, title, and interest (including copyright) are owned and/or controlled by the entrant.
By entering the contest, the entrant confirms his/her: (i) eligibility for the Contest and compliance with the Contest Rules; entrant grants the sponsor (ii) acceptance of the Prize as offered; and (iii) release of each of the Sponsors and their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, employees, directors, officers, suppliers, agents, sponsors and administrators (collectively, the “Releases”) from any and all liability for any loss, harm, damages, cost or expense arising out of participation in this Contest, participation in any Contest-related activity or the acceptance, use, or misuse of the Prize, including but not limited to costs, injuries, losses related to personal injuries, death, damage to, loss or destruction of property, rights of publicity or privacy, defamation, or portrayal in a false light, or from any and all claims of third parties arising there from; and (iv) grant to the Sponsors of the unrestricted right, in the Sponsors’ collective or individual discretion, to produce, reproduce, publish, broadcast, communicate by telecommunication, exhibit, distribute, adapt and otherwise use and re-use the Contest Winner’s name, photograph, likeness, voice, biography, entry photo and description in any and all media now known or hereafter devised, for advertising and promotional purposes without further consideration, unless prohibited by law.
8. Miscellaneous: All entries become the sole property of Sponsor and none will be returned. In the event of a dispute, entries made by Internet will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry. The “authorized account holder” is deemed the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, service provider or other online organization that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. A potential winner may be requested to provide Sponsor with proof that the potential winner is the authorized account holder of the e-mail address associated with the winning entry. If for any reason the Contest is not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failure, human error or any other causes beyond the control of Sponsor that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Contest, Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest. Sponsor assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries. The Sponsor is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or entry to be received by Sponsor on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site, any combination thereof, or otherwise, including any injury or damage to entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in the Contest. Sponsor is not responsible for late, lost, illegible, incomplete, stolen, or misdirected entries. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
